LDS Publisher Christmas Story Contest

Hi all,

Figured I'd post the link here, since many of us are in the LDS community (though you don't have to be to vote in this contest.) Every year, LDS Publisher, an anonymous member of the LDS publishing community, runs a Christmas story contest. Details on how to vote are here:

I have not entered this, but one talented writer friend of mine has. Have any of you entered? Even if you haven't, it's worth going to peruse the stories and cast a vote. Just another way to support other aspiring writers!

I apologize for posting this on the last day of voting. I've been in the hospital for a week, but I got a healthy baby boy out of the deal so I'm happy :-).

  1. Emily, thanks for the link and congratulations! Wow, you got a baby for Christmas!

  2. Thanks for the link! And congrats on your beautiful baby boy! :)

  3. Congrats! And Merry Christmas. :)

  4. Hooray! Welcome baby! Sorry you had to be in the hospital for a whole week. Did you get any writing done?

  5. No, but I did three novels this year, so I'm taking a few weeks off. I've learned, over the last ten years doing this, that writing every day burns me out and makes me churn out reams of slush. It's good advice for people who lose momentum, but I now know I'm not in that category. My writing's better when I let it rest now and again.

Thanks, everyone! Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas tomorrow!

  6. I agree there's value in taking a break. Though I sulk about having to take a forced sabbatical this year because of relocating to Hawaii, my brain keeps working even if my fingers aren't typing, and my next book will be much better for it.

What be on yer mind?
