The cap'n is mighty proud today to announce that one of our jolly crew will be holding a book signing for her debut novel! Yes, one week from now, Susan Quinn will sign copies of Life, Liberty, and Pursuit at a couple of her local book stores in Illinois. You can see more details here.
So all come round and give Quinn a hearty thump on the back! Hip-hip-hooray! We're pleased to celebrate this landmark on your voyage with ye. And we look forward to a full report next week.
Susan, congrats!!! Wish I lived in Illinois.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rebecca and Jonene! I just hope someone shows up, or it will just be me and my talking parrot. Not that we can't have some good times, just the two of us. :)
ReplyDeleteWoot! Woot! Congrats, Susan! I wish I lived at least a 1000 miles closer. Sending all kinds of good vibes and wishes!
ReplyDeleteSusan, congratulations! How exciting is that???
ReplyDeleteHip, hip--hooray!
Yay!! Have tons of fun, Susan. If I lived near there, you would definitely be seeing me. :-)
ReplyDelete@Leisha, Elizabeth, and Shannon Thanks! It's so cool having author friends all over the world. But sometimes I wish you all lived in my backyard. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, congrats! And if no one shows up, I can tell you stories of seeing S.M. Stirling and George RR Martin, even after they became famous, sitting more or less alone at signings. I was also alone at my first signing, but it's a great chance to get to know the bookstore employees and that can really boost your sales, if they like you as a person (bring them presents -chocolate's a good one). It's also a good chance to meet your early fans - I made a point to talk to and note the names of the people who did show up on my first signing tour (there were three :-). Some seem surprised I remember them, but I'll never forget. They always get a personal response to emails and blog comments, and will always have a special place in my heart.
ReplyDeleteAs with everyone else, I just live too far away to come to yours :-(.
@Emily Thanks! Being good friends with the shop owner already helps! If nothing else, she'll brew me a hot tea and we'll chat. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the support, everyone! It means a tremendous amount!!
